I had purchased an Oster Breadmaker virtually identical to this one several years ago. I use it mostly on the dough cycle to make dough for bagels and pizza. It was an excellent machine for that purpose, but eventually the seal at the bottom of the pan developed a leak. It was still usuable, except that I had to add the dry ingredients first. I decided to buy a new machine, and bought a Breadman brand at Target. It was a lousy machine from the beginning. While it was supposed to make 2 lb loaves, it would not as the motor would stall with that much dough in the pan. The motor also generated a lot of heat, and caused the dough to begin rising straight out of the machine, which is not good for bagels. I finally got tired of failed recipes and bought this new Oster machine. I have been unable to buy a new bread pan for the old machine. The new Oster machine works just as good as the oiginal. The motor has lots of power and does not stall with 2 lbs of dough, and the motor does not generate excess heat. A great machine for making dough.
