I Love This Grill!

Emerilware GC4009002 Electric Grill Panini

I cannot say enough about this grill! I was a little apprehensive when I bought it because I didn't want yet one more item on my counter or taking up space in my drawers if it didn't work well for our family. It works better than I could've ever asked for! We have grilled sandwiches to perfection, the grilled zucchini was amazing, and we even grilled a 2+ inch rib eye for valentines day that came out perfectly! I highly recommend a digital thermometer to ensure your desired pinkness for steaks. I even made grilled breakfast sandwiches this morning with black forrest ham, scrambled egg, and cheddar chese on focaccia bread that was to die for and the whole family ate them up! I first cooked the egg and ham in the microwave for about a minute then added the cheddar and bread. Then I placed it in the grill and it was way to easy! I highly recommend this to anyone that wants to simplify their cooking in a healthy and satisfying way! Btw, cleaning is very easy to do! The best unit I've purchased in a LONG time!

I've had several George Foremen grills and the Emeril grill is the BEST grill I've tried. I always do my steaks on this grill, they never over cook, chicken is juicy and done and sandwiches grill beautifully. Being able to take it apart to clean is an added plus. It is so easy to clean under running water that I rarely put it in the dishwasher but that works as well. I would recommend this grill to anyone.

  3. I bought this grill over a year ago when it was called the T-Fall Fit 'N Clean Indoor Grill and was $30 less expensive. It still works great and still looks brand new. The only thing I can say bad about this grill is the little plastic splash guard broke immediately, but I've never felt a need for that part. I was originally looking for a sandwich/panini maker and after spending hours reading reviews for different products, I'm so glad I chose this one.

Love that it's got a floating hinged top and even large panini sandwiches can easily fit in it. I don't use it much completely open, but I do use it to cook all sorts of foods with the top elevated like a broiler or with the top up. Doesn't take long to pre-warm it up, has different temperature settings, cooks quickly and grease runs right into the drip pans that stay put.

Love that it completely comes apart for cleaning. I use a moist paper towel and wipe off both grills while it's still warm and everything, even melted cheese, comes off the surface really easily (I never use cooking sprays on it) and then when it cools down, I wash it in my sink.

I highly recommend this grill. If mine ever breaks, I'd spend the extra dollars and buy it again in a heartbeat.

  4. Product works great. Does what it claims and is wonderful to clean. Just cook, cool, remove electric component, wash or place in dishwasher and that's it! I've cooked sandwiches, steaks(bone-in), chops, dogs, brats, and fish filets and they all turned out great.

  5. I bought this for my boyfriend because he loves to grill. So I spent plenty of time online searching for an indoor type grill and reading reviews to see which was the best one. Well, let me tell you...it takes no time to make a sandwich, more like open then close, then open sort of deal. It took about 7 minutes to cook chicken breast all the way through.....Steaks not too much more! Best of all....it is so easy to clean. You can take it apart in 1 easy step, place it in the dishwasher or the sink or....you could simply wipe it clean. The thing performs as an open grill.....which means you could cook more, closed grill, or a sandwich press......guys its awesome....george foreman aint got nothing on this!

  6. Awesome product -- much better and cheaper than the red George Foreman model with all the interchangeable plates. This is very easy to clean up whether you have a dishwasher or not.

  7. I purchased this grill in January of 2009 after doing a number of searches and comparisons. My two main requirements at that time were to find a unit that 1) was easier to clean than my previous grill with fixed plates and 2) would not pose a danger by having hot removable plates fall out during use. I had looked at a number of units with removable plates, but in the cost range I was targeting, I did not feel safe about the clips they used to hold the grill plates in place.

With this unit, the plates are fixed in place, and it is the entire grill that breaks into two pieces. We can easily wash the two pieces in the sink or the dishwasher, and do not have to worry about a heating plate mishap during cooking use.

The nonstick is holding up well, and the unit continues to heat up fast and hot. I agree with other reviewers that the flip-around metal support for broiling and keeping food warm is a bit awkward. In reality, we hardly ever use that capability. I really like having a temperature control on this grill as well - my previous beast-to-clean unit did not have that feature.

My only concern is how well the interlocking mechanism will continue to hold up over time. The power unit engages tabs that keep the halves of the unit together. However, I believe that with little care during use the grill should last beyond my expectation.

  8. Emerilware GC4009002 Electric Grill and Panini Maker
This grill is the end all of grill purchasing. Emeril has done a fine job of putting his name and reputation on the line for this grill. It chars and cooks steaks exactly as you want them. An endless imagination awaits the creative panini maker. Clean up is fast and easy. You will never need to purchase another grill no matter what the manufacturers come up with next. Absolultely perfect!

  9. I really researched grills like this one before I bought. This is the only one under $100 that had all the features I wanted: an adjustable thermostat, grates that could be taken apart and cleaned in the sink or the dishwasher, enough power to sear a steak, could also do panini. I'm so happy with it. I've done panini, steak, salmon, and veggies. The grill is easy to wipe clean after most things and cleans up easy, but after grilling the steak and salmon, it was a little harder. But I just took the grates apart and put them in my dish water and they washed up super quick and easy. I debated about grills without removable grates, but I'm sooo glad I chose one that has submersible (or dishwasher safe) grates!

  10. Having been a long-time user of the Foreman Grilles, but growing dissatisfied over the frequency with which we had to replace them, I thought I'd try something else.

The Emerilware Grille gets noticeably hotter than any George I ever used; it sears quite nicely. Being able to take the electrical components out and wash it in the sink is very handy. Also handy is the ability to open it up to cook a large number of burgers, etc.

Only knock...it's a little big for our daily use (for two); would be nice to have a smaller model!
