Best Review on White Mountain PBWMIME612 SHP Appalachian Electric
My wife and I have used our new White Mountain ice cream maker three times since acquiring it. I wanted to make sure we had a chance to try it with different types of ice cream before reviewing. At this point I am entirely satisfied with the product. We made coconut milk ice cream first, followed by dairy milk ice cream, then frozen yogurt. Each turned out very well, with smooth, creamy consistency. The motor is very loud, so you won't want to use this if someone's trying to take a nap nearby! It's easy to use, easy to maintain. It's expensive, and of course there are lower priced units available from a variety of other companies, so it really is up to your budget. We've made ice cream that was pretty comparable in quality with lower priced machines, but this one does a great job and allows for a very tight seal.

BalasHapusCustom made ice cream is a luxury that always sounds like it will be a huge amount of work. Once you've built this ice cream maker (and gotten the hard part out of the way), you'll be really surprised by how easy it can be.
BalasHapusThe instructions to build the machine are hard to follow. They're constructed of pictures but don't show exactly how the parts fit together, nor do they have explanation, which is something to take into account. Once assembled, though, you're away with making your own custom ice cream, as from then everything is simple.
The ice cream maker comes with 11 recipes, including standard vanilla, chocolate, and sherbert. So far I've made vanilla and chocolate ice cream with it and they've both turned out beautifully. The ice cream has the texture of soft serve, but if you'd like hard ice cream the machine does provide you instructions on freezing it further until you get just the right consistency.
The machine lets you make any variety of ice cream that you might want, so you can really go crazy with it and develop new flavors and styles that your family will love. It would be great for use with kids in particular as they'll love choosing exactly which kind of ice cream they want and helping to put it all together. Recommended!
The ice cream maker is really well made, easy to use, not difficult to clean and the motor is quite powerful, although rather loud. I used the basic vanilla recipe and it came out wonderful! Very tasty and without additional freezing like soft serve. Makes enough ice cream for a small army and didn't have any problems with it. Good instructions, very well made maker, and great ice cream! Nothing to complain about.
BalasHapusSure, there are much less expensive makers out there but none - NONE - of them hold up like this one. This thing is a workhouse and really works great. Lots of power in the motor to not quit too early on you but allow the cream to freeze at a great consistency before shutting off. Spend the money up for a better maker... this one!
BalasHapusI make over twenty gallons of ice cream every weekend. I have had two other machines and this one BY FAR is the best one. Not only does it make ice cream much faster than other machines, the ice cream itself is much more creamier! it is a bit loud but nothing more than other machines. If you are going to be making homemade ice cream, I would highly suggest this product!
BalasHapusMakes great ice cream as always. It is my 6th white mountain maker. Keep getting bigger and bigger ice cream makers!!
BalasHapusThe White Mountain Appalachian Series Wooden Bucket Electric Ice Cream Maker is GREAT!!! It makes the ice cream very fast! I would highly reccommend it.
BalasHapusWe love this ice cream maker. Since we received it I have made about 12 quarts of ice cream.
BalasHapusIt is extremely sturdy and easy to use. We have been making the ice cream in 4 quart batches which is easier for us to store but it also allows you to make 2 quarts or 6 quarts. You basically make your ice cream recipe, put it in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, ( the longer you leave it in there the faster the ice cream is to make) Then after loading your ingredients, you alternate ice with about 2 cups of rock salt and plug it in. That's it. It takes on average 20-25 minutes to have delicious ice cream. After you are done if you want harder ice cream simply store it in the freezer, it takes about 4 hours to get it to that consistency.
We have used it 4 different times and 3 times back to back and have had no trouble with the motor whirling like some of the other reviews. The unit does not get hot and is also very easy to clean.
I would have liked more recipes than their book gives you but its just as easy to look them up on line.
If you want to make a lot of ice cream that is so much better than anything I have ever gotten in a supermarket this is for you.
