Best Review on Sandwich Maker Cookbook Gritty Cookbooks
As soon as I received this item, I realized how light it was especially compared to the other square griddle pan I was replacing. Even though it is really light, it hasn't started warping yet (something pans tend to do pretty quickly with my older smooth top stove). The finish seems to be good as I haven't noticed any scratches. It does feel like it is made well in that there were no rough/sharp edges. It cooks evenly and only requires low heat. As with any square griddle it definitely has a hot spot in the middle area where the eye of the stove is applying heat. The high sides are nice for keeping grease contained, especially if you're cooking multiple batches of bacon or something and don't want to transfer the grease in the middle of cooking.
The one thing I don't like about it is its size. The griddle I replaced with this one must have been 12 or more inches wide because this one feels a good bit smaller. It is still big enough to cook strips of bacon but just barely. It's also not quite large enough to toast 4 slices of bread for grilled cheese like our old one was, well not with any space between the slices.
We've only been using it for a few months now so I'll come back and repost if anything changes.
BalasHapusI bought this book becuase i had recently bought a sandwhich maker and it came with very few recipes, hints or instructions. I even searched on the web for only a small amount of info... This book is very good. It is clearly written with alot of good sandwhich ideas ( not only for the sandwhich maker but also just for sandwichs) The book is written for sandwich makers in general so the author tells you where the makers varies... what to try with different types. I found some recipes that sounded very good and others i probably i wouldnt try...but there were many that sounded very good. And since its easy to use, only takes a few minutes to cook in one, and is easy to clean...trying new recipes is easy.
