Read First Before Buy Cuttlebug 2000293 Machine V2
I purchased the cuttlebug as a Mother's Day gift for my 88 yr old mother, who has just taken up card-making and scrapbooking in the last few years. Before my Dad's death, he had bought her a Cricut Expression, which she just hasn't been able to get the hang of using, without someone to guide her through the process. I love my own cuttlebug so much, and it's so easy to use, that I figured this is something she would be able to handle without assistance. When she opened this gift, she was thrilled! She has already made several cards using the embossing folders and dies my sister and I bought her to go with it.
This is a quality product and a must have product for anyone who loves card-making, papercrafting, and/or scrapbooking. It's a good starter machine that you'll continue to use long after you've advanced to electronic machines, as it's embossing powers go far beyond what any electronic machine is able to do. The embossing folders are inexpensive and this machine will take any brand of die or embossing folder. I have two electronic cutters, but still turn to my little cuttlebug on a regular basis to give my die cuts that special touch of embossed elegance! I love my cuttlebug!
Amazon's price for the Cuttlebug V2 made by Provocraft was the most affordable. This machine is compact and easy to use. You will get precise cuts and details every time! You can create professional grade projects with this machine. If you are considering investing in a high quality, durable manual diecut/embossing machine, I highly recommend the Cuttlebug V2!
BalasHapusI've been using my Cuttlebug for a few weeks now and absolutely love it! I read the recommendation of others and bought an extra pair of cutting plates (B plates) and added a C plate to it for using with dies from other machines. So far everything works beautifully and the handle turns easily for embossing and die cutting (I was worried it wouldn't.) I've gotten crisp, clean images using the embossing folders I've purchased, and have had clean cuts with the die-cutting plates I've used. The die cutting does leave a cut-in image on your B-plates, but I just switch them around and flip them over to keep it all even. So far the marks left on my B-plates haven't been an issue for me.
BalasHapusI researched the different machines like this one and decided on the Cuttlebug for ease of use, compatibility with dies from other machines, its embossing AND die-cutting capability and because the suction plate on the bottom holds well and is easily activated by pulling down the front and back feeder-trays. (I watched videos of all machines, and one other had a small lever to activate suction and it looked really difficult to turn.)
I also bought the All-In-One folder for my Cuttlebug but I'm not completely sold on that part. It puts wrinkles in my paper/cardstock at the outside corners of the embossing plates used with it. It still works, it's just not as nice looking as regular plates/dies used with the Cuttlebug.
I was looking at spending a lot on a die cutting machine. Then my mother bought this one and I fell in love. I bought it and I use it almost daily. You can use virtually any die with this machine (Sizzix, Spellbinders, etc) which is why I liked this compared to other machines. I think this is a must in scrapbooking/cardmaking.
BalasHapusOMG, I love this little machine. Makes my cards and my scrapbooks beautiful. You will not be disappointed. I have purchased all the accessories. Most of all, it is FUN!

BalasHapusThis machine is very easy to use. It came with an A plate, two B plates, and an embossing folder. I'm very happy with this purchase and will definitely be buying more Cuttlebug embossing folders and die cuts.
Love my cuttlebug! I bought it for embossing since I already own a Cricut machine. It is perfect for embossing and is compact for storage.
