Best Review on Mango Masala Recipes Supermarket ebook
This wonderful book helps you make delicious and healthy food without much effort. I bought it just before Christmas and used the holidays, when the kids are home and expecting new and fancy food everyday, to try out some of the dishes. My son who loves Mexican food loved the Peppery Chicken Wraps. The Mango Lassi-Smoothie tastes heavenly. The POM Lime Sparkler was a big hit this New Year's Eve. The Beet Patties reminded me of the 'Vegetable Chop' which we used to enjoy, travelling on the Indian Railways many years ago. And the Carrot Halwa tasted just like the dessert my mom used to make when we returned home from our boarding school during the holidays. Loved the fact that the recipes use simple ingredients available in most supermarkets/groccery stores. Excellent book, will definitely recommend it to my friends.

Have been following the authors blog from its inception. Was really excited and eagerly waiting, when i got to know that they are coming up with a book. Bought Mango Masala on the day it was launched and by day two i had already tried 3 of its recipes.
BalasHapusThe recipes are very simple, indian but with a western touch, beautifully described and the best part is all the ingredients are available in my kitchen. The write ups before each recipe makes you want to have the dish instantly. And not to miss out the names of the dish and the pictures..
Some of the recipes in Mango Masala might look like a regular recipe. But the beauty is the twists given by the authors, which makes it extra special.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a simple but modernized indian recipes. I hope the authors are coming up with more such books.
Let me state at the outset that I'm no devoted foodie. I do not worship food, I do not drool or fantasise. For me it is no more than a functional fuel to keep me going.
BalasHapusOr so I thought and believed. Till I saw the initial rushes of this Tadka Pasta production. My food philosophy, till then rock-like, developed a distinct waver. Further exploration of these two writers'(one of whom I count as a very close friend) turned the waver to a wobble. And by the time I was done with "Mango Masala" my precious minimalist food philosophy was reduced to a heap of ruins.
"MANGO MASALA" HAD TURNED ME INTO A HOPELESS FOOD JUNKIE!
And with excellent reason. The recipes in "Mango Masala" are scrumptious, and the writing is delightfully witty. If one were consciously looking for a perfect marriage of form and substance one need look no further than this beguilingly crafted piece of seduction through salivation - and coming from a confirmed food minimalist that is saying SOMETHING!
So if you are already a lover of divine food, go out and get "Mango Masala" pronto. And if you're not, go out and get it all the same - you'll fall in love with food, and this would be one magnificent obsession you wouldn't regret.
I have been following Tadka Pasta's blog for a little over a year now and have always been eager to try everything the authors presented there. Their words always drew me in and tempted me to try my hand at the recipes. I never needed to rush to the supermarket to buy ingredients that I would use once and then let them languish on my spice rack for years. Every ingredient was easily accessible and oft used. Every recipe drew me in and tempted my taste buds.
BalasHapusI am thrilled to own their cookbook - Mango Masala: 60 Indian Recipes From Your Local Supermarket. It is exceptional in every way, the writing, the photography and most importantly the simplified and de-stressed approach to cooking. A harried mom like me need never worry again about the preparation of a healthy breakfast or lunch or dinner for me or my family; I always know I can attempt everything with ease and without fear of failure.
Over the last several months I have become extremely conscious about what I consume. Nutrition isn't something that should ever be taken lightly because we are, after all, what we eat and the authors here are very mindful of this. In my newly minted efforts at nutritional enlightenment and consciousness, Mango Masala comes as a very welcome addition to my electronic bookshelf.
I intend to discover a world of culinary delights by exploring the book chapter by chapter.
The book would make an excellent gift and I highly recommend it.
I love to explore new-to-me foods and this wonderful, colorful cookbook offers me a gateway to flavorful Indian treats that are easy to create and a joy to eat. I haven't tried all of the recipes yet, but so far, I think my favorite is the avocado and grilled cheese sandwich made on my panini maker. Runner-up could be Sunrise Medley with Potatoes and Onions.
BalasHapusWhether you have your favorite Indian recipes already or, like me, you're new to re-creating your favorite Indian restaurant meals at home, you will find what you want in this cookbook. Plus, as you read the authors' personal stories before the recipes, you feel like you have a friend or two helping in the kitchen, too!
Mango Masala isn't just another Indian cookbook. It's so much more. The recipes are not just easy to put together, but the writing kicks off a delicious sense of anticipation about what's coming. The authors bring their combined gifts to the table with this book through stunning photography and delectable prose. This is the perfect book for someone like me who's iffy about cooking because it simplifies what I usually consider a chore. Also, by sending my senses into overdrive, it gives me the motivation I oftentimes lack. A great piece of food literature. Go, buy your copy!

BalasHapusTadka Pasta's Mango Masala cookbook of 60 Indian recipes is top-notch, with healthy ingredients that are easy to find, accurate measurements, and clearly-described methods. Each recipe comes with a little intro that educates about the Indian approach to food, and prepares the reader for making the recipe.
BalasHapusBreakfast Spread, the cookbook's first chapter, has wonderful alternatives to the usual sugary breakfast options. The recipes are savory and full of bright flavors - yummy, healthy ways to start a day. All the chapters are great reads, as well as excellent guides for making delicious, healthy meals.
The Tadka Pasta authors, Ranjini Rao and Ruchira Ramanujam, India-born, and now fully at home in the USA, have made sure the dishes are accessible. Ingredients can be found in regular supermarkets, and recipes have short cooking times.
Mango Masala dishes are modern takes on Indian cooking styles and flavors - everything is authentic - and yet up-to-date, with some influences from Western and non-Indian Asian cooking, too.
If you don't cook, you'll probably get a kick out of this cookbook anyway because of its warm, lively style. If you're not yet a foodie, Mango Masala could easily make you into one. Highly recommended, and a great gift.

BalasHapusThis is one of the most exciting cookbooks I've read in ages! The authors offer delicious new takes on everyone's favorite comfort foods - both Indian and American. Egg salad sandwich with caramelized onions, a-wow-cado grilled cheese sandwiches, roasted cauliflower with mango-pistachio dip, multigrain pilaf with pizzazz - the titles say it all. Just reading these recipes (and looking at the mouth-watering photographs) makes me want to run to the kitchen and start cooking. I especially liked the recipes for breakfast dishes (such as sunrise medley with potatoes and mushrooms and Indian masala omelette), since this is an area neglected in many Indian cookbooks. I hope the authors write more books like this!
