Best Review on Jovial Organic Einkorn Flour 32 0 Ounce
I was inspired by the book "Wheat Belly" to completely reorganize my pantry.
I switched my family to almond flour, coconut flour, etc...
But in some of my favorite recipees you just can't replace wheat flour, simply can't; like pizza, for instance. So, after googling einkorn flour I was happy
to know Amazon carried it. The flour is slightly creamy in color (not bleached of course), texture is fine, just like your modern flour. When I made yeast dough out of einkorn flour it turned out good, just a little more sticky than usual, but manageble. Also, it's a little less plastic. I am considering adding a little more olive oil to it, or butter, and eggs. I made 4 pizzas and they taste great. The crust tasted more intense then regular bread dough...very pleasant. It made me remember the taste of my great grandma's baked goodies.
I am very pleased with it and will definitely order more.
This flour is great, I have been able to use this for baking when I am unable to use regular flour because of gluten problems. This has gluten but is not genetically altered.

BalasHapusThis is a wonderful flour! If all flours were like this prior to the 70s, then I can see why obesity wasn't a problem back in the day. It's satisfying and filling without being over-filling and leaving you with whacked out blood sugar levels [like regular and whole wheat pasta]. It's wonderful for cookies, pancakes, etc. You can taste and somehow feel the difference with this flour. It is that good.
BalasHapusThis flour is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Amazing! I originally became interested in Einkorn wheat after reading the book Wheat Belly. The book outlines how wheat has been hybridized into frankewheat which is nothing like the original wheat our ancestors ate. I normally eschew grains and wheat in particular, but there are some favorite recipes you just can't make without flour. After reading that Einkorn does not spike blood sugar or might be less allergenic, I was skeptical but hopeful. I haven't made bread with it yet, but plan to soon. I have used the flour in gravy and breading meat. It makes a wonderful, golden crispy crust in breading and blends smoothly and thickens even better than regular flour in gravy and sauces. The texture is incredibly silky and finely milled. But the biggest surprise of all is that it actually has a flavor, where regular flour has none or tastes like paste. In creating sauces, you normally have to cook the flour to get the paste taste out, but Einkorn has a subtle, rich flavor that doesn't require this, a sign of a quality ingredient. I originally bought this flour for its healthful properties, but I'm going to keep cooking with it because I love how it works and tastes! Do not hesitate to add this to your pantry.
BalasHapusThis flour, which is the oldest kind of wheat, used for thousands of years, is really great! Makes wonderful scones, biscotti, flat breads, etc. Much, much healthier than the traditional whole wheat flour, which has been so modified by hybridization that it simply is not healthy anymore. Read the book "Lose the Wheat, Lose the Weight" to find out one of the reasons why so many people are obese and unhealthy now.

This is a very good substitute for the cuurent wheat flour in the food supply which is being touted as "healthy". Einkorn has a nutty taste and does well in yeast breads and quick rise breads. It makes very good pancakes, scones, yeast bread and for breading meats and fish. I am a convert to this ancient wheat flour.
BalasHapusI love einkorn flour, it has a wonderful flavor and color, and you use it like regular flour. It's like flour is supposed to be, NOT GMO! Unfortunately the bags were packaged poorly and one of the bags broke open covering the other bags in the rather expensive flour. It made a real mess, not to mention waste.
