Best Review on Chefscape TEMPR 4 Slice Muffin Toaster
I purchased this item for a Christmas present for my 14 year old son who has been making his own eggs and toast for a few years now. He likes to cook, so getting his own gear is cool. This allows him to get breakfast started, then prepare his school lunch while it's cooking. He figures that it takes 6 minutes of cooking time, more than enough to throw together a sandwich and whatever else for school.
My son alternates between bagels and English muffins to go with his eggs and cheese slices, and sometimes adds Canadian bacon or sausage. Single-serving packets of corned beef hash warm up on the meat tray nicely, too. Beaten eggs become beautifully light and fluffy, and cracked ones will cook to your desired tastes from hard to soft. We have hard-boiled 8 eggs to make deviled eggs from, and this machine sure beats boiling them in a pan, too. Fire it up and walk away.
Clean up is easy and fast, just minimal rinsing of the cover, trays and basket for the eggs. The water reservior cleans with a quick shot of kitchen cleaner and a paper towel. Individual crumb trays slide in and out fast for cleaning the toaster.
If I had any initial concerns, it was the handles on the egg trays, which feel a little thin. I called the manufacturer to see if more were available if I needed them, and was told they would be replaced under warranty for 3 years, no problem! I don't think this will be an issue, but better to check early than late.
I told my boss about buying this, and he ordered one for his wife who poaches eggs every morning for breakfast. Feedback from him has been great, as well. All in all, this may initially seem like a gadget, but once you use it, you'll throw your old toaster out!
I second what everyone said about the ease and convenience of doing the toast/eggs/canadian bacon for breakfast sandwiches all at once... it makes the most perfect poached eggs. But I also love it because I can use egg beaters if I want; or mix up one egg with some egg whites from a carton to make more volume without adding fat or many calories. I chop up leftover veggies from last night's dinner, pour in some eggbeaters with a little egg white from the carton, push the button.... a perfectly cooked and delicately puffed-up mini omelette. Sprinkle a little cheese on top... Or add a little feta to the eggs before they're cooked. I love this thing. Hot breakfast every morning and NO DISHES. And it does eight hard-cooked eggs at once at the touch of a button.
BalasHapusThis has to be one of the best time-saving devices I've bought. Put the ingredients in the toaster, turn it on, and 5 minutes later breakfast is ready with perfect eggs everytime. I had to pay $50 shipping to get this to Panama, but it has been worth every penny. It took a little while to get the amount of water right to cook the eggs the way I like them, and I find adding a thin coating of olive oil to the pan first prevents any sticking, just pour off the oil after cooking and turn the pan upside down over the english muffin to get the egg out.

BalasHapusSo far I've used this toaster for a few weeks and I love it! I've made hard boiled, sunny side up, and scrambled eggs. This toaster is perfect for a busy morning getting the kids ready for school...Pop the toast or eggo's in, some eggs and boom, you're multi-tasking in the morning. It took a few trial and errors to get the right amount of water for the different types of eggs you want, but the instructions do get you close.
